EKONID, also known as AHK Indonesia, is the German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. It has been present in Indonesia for more than 100 years and works from its own building on Jl. H. Agus Salim in Menteng, Central Jakarta. It is part of the worldwide network of German chambers abroad (AHK) and has a presence in Surabaya through Wisma Jerman, run together with the Goethe-Institut and the German Embassy.
The chamber connects around 400 corporate members across many sectors. Membership gives access to business events, market updates and practical help such as legal guidance, visa support and company listings, and EKONID represents members' interests in dialogue with Indonesian government institutions.
Unlike most chambers, EKONID also sells services to non-members under the DEinternational brand. Its market entry team helps companies choose a business model for Indonesia, runs business partner searches for distributors, agents and suppliers, and produces market intelligence reports, from company credit checks to pre-market studies. Other services include legal and corporate services, event and trade fair management and skilled migration advice. For German companies and German expats in Jakarta it is the natural first point of contact.
