Global Jaya School opened in 1995 with 107 students and has grown into one of the larger international schools in the Bintaro area, with around 1,000 students from roughly 18 nationalities. Its campus sits on Emerald Boulevard in Bintaro Jaya Sektor 9, South Tangerang, on the south-western edge of Jakarta. The school is non-denominational and was set up under the Jaya Educational Foundation, part of the Jaya Group that developed Bintaro Jaya.

Global Jaya is a full IB continuum school, teaching the Primary Years Programme in early childhood and elementary, the Middle Years Programme in middle school and the IB Diploma Programme in the final two years. It is an IB World School and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Students range from age four in early childhood through to the end of high school, with published class sizes of around 16 to 24 depending on the year group.

The campus covers about 17 acres, with early years buildings and outdoor play areas, a swimming pool, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a theatre and visual and performing arts facilities. For families living in Bintaro, Pondok Indah or along the BSD corridor, it is an established IB option without the drive into central Jakarta. Admission involves a trial assessment for younger children and ability testing with an interview from Year 6 upwards; expatriate families are asked for passport and KITAS copies.
