Central Jakarta Immigration Office (Kantor Imigrasi Jakarta Pusat)

The Central Jakarta Immigration Office (Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Jakarta Pusat) is the Directorate General of Immigration's office for the city centre. It was set up in 1983 in the historic Kunstkring building on Jl. Teuku Umar in Menteng (now the Tugu Kunstkring Paleis restaurant and gallery), and since 1998 it has worked from a five-storey building at Jl. Merpati Blok B12 No. 3 in the Angkasa office area of Kemayoran. The office states that its working area covers the eight sub-districts of Central Jakarta: Tanah Abang, Menteng, Senen, Johar Baru, Cempaka Putih, Kemayoran, Sawah Besar and Gambir, which takes in Menteng, Cikini and the Thamrin hotel and office corridor around Bundaran HI. Residents of Setiabudi and Kuningan fall under the South Jakarta Immigration Office instead.

For foreign nationals, the office's website covers extensions of visit stay permits (ITK), limited stay permits (ITAS) and permanent stay permits (ITAP), changes of status from ITK to ITAS and from ITAS to ITAP, ITAP reporting, transfer of a permit to a new passport, change of address, birth reporting, affidavits and limited dual citizenship certificates, immigration certificates (SKIM), dual activity and dual position, and bridging stay permits, alongside its list of PNBP (state) fees. Requirements and fees are set by the Directorate General of Immigration, and many foreign residents use a sponsor's HR team or a visa agent to prepare applications.

The office is open Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00, and closed at weekends. Enquiries can be made by phone or email, and the office posts updates on Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube as @kanimjakpus_.
